The 12th annual Medcenter One Great American Bike Race (GABR) for cerebral palsy, held Saturday, April 12 at Century High School in Bismarck, raised a record $216,000. The race hosted 100 teams of ten riders who biked a combined 8,761 miles to raise money for patients with cerebral palsy and their families. More than 2,000 people attended the race. GABR is the most successful race of its kind in the U.S.
Top fundraising teams in this year’s event were Mitch’s Mighty Dickinson Riders, Scheels and Zach’s Pedaling Posse #2. The top individual fundraisers were Jason Lachenmeier, Roger Aberle and Tracy Vearrier.

On the LeMond bikes, the fastest team was YMCA Early AM Team and the top individual was Eric Hardmeyer.
Special thanks to all the GABR supporters and sponsors. Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s race: Saturday, April 18, 2009.
