Hospital inpatient careLicensed, registered dietitians are available to assist with hospital patients' needs and/or concerns. Dietitians are available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and are on call weekends and holidays.Clinic outpatient careLicensed, registered dietitians can provide our patients with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). The American Dietetic Association defines this as "the assessment of the nutritional status of patients with a condition, illness or injury that puts them at risk. Based on the assessment, those nutrition modalities most appropriate to manage the condition or treat the illness or injury are chosen."top Learn more
Reimbursement for nutrition consultsLicensed Registered Dietitians provide nutrition consults, also known as medical nutrition therapy, at Medcenter One. The insurance companies listed below will reimburse the conditions marked.
*Check your individual BCBS plan for your coverage.Not all BCBS plans cover all of these diagnoses. A doctor referral is necessary for services to be covered. Independent insurance companies may also provide coverage for medical nutrition therapy. Please check with your individual insurance company. Dietitians also provide services for other diagnoses. Please check with your individual insurance company for reimbursement.
