The radiographer is a person who is part of the medical team whose concern is for the patient's welfare in diagnosis and prevention of disease. The physician will order the necessary x-ray exam. A radiographer is a trained professional who places patients in specific positions and uses ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images for the radiologist. These radiographs aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by their physician in order to better their health. The increased application of radiography in medicine and industry has prompted the use of specialized personnel to ensure quality radiographs.
